1953 Spanish Bakelite Telephone

This 1953 Spanish Bakelite telephone was manufactured by Standard Eléctrica S.A. in Madrid, Spain, for use on the Telefónica telephone network.

The black Bakelite wall telephone features a rotary dial, an internal ringer, and a cotton-covered cord. It was designed for central-battery telephone service.

This example came from the late David Charles Collection and is documented through photographs showing its original condition, dismantling for cleaning, reassembly, and place in the Old Telephone Room collection.
