Its coin mechanism accommodated different coin denominations, while the rotary dial allowed callers to place calls through the public telephone network. The green finish distinguishes this example from other versions of the Northern Electric 233-series payphone.

This telephone represents Canadian public telephone equipment from the early 1960s.

This 1964 Northern Electric Green 233HS payphone has been sold to another telephone collector.
