A note found inside the telephone indicates that it was originally sold by Newfoundland Telephone. The number card also points to its Newfoundland connection, which matches the area code on the number card. A reverse number search was done, the 709-722-9865 is a Landline phone number operated by Aliant Telecom (NF) and is located in the city of St. John’s in Newfoundland. Most of the components are dated 1966, providing evidence of the telephone’s original assembly period.

The restoration included light cleaning, adding the top flag and bottom cash-box lock, and replacing the handset and armoured cord.
