Believed to have been handcrafted by the Telephone Pioneers of America, this unique display features a Northern Electric Contempra handset housed inside a clear Plexiglas pyramid.
The pyramid was likely inspired by the “Pyramid Power” craze of the 1970s. The original brown 1972 Touch-Tone handset was replaced with an authentic 1972 yellow rotary Contempra handset after the original was damaged.
Designed by John Tyson and introduced by Northern Electric in 1967, the award-winning Contempra became one of Canada’s most iconic telephone designs.
