Nobelphone ECHO “Sound-Powered” Bakelite Handset
The Nobelphone ECHO is a vintage handset made in Japan, though its exact production date is unknown. Measuring about 9 ½ inches long and 3 inches wide at the mouthpiece, it features a sturdy Bakelite body paired with a gold-tone metal cover.
With the cover removed, it reveals a some vintage circuits inside along with a spot for two AA batteries. While it may seem simple compared to modern technology, the ECHO is a fascinating piece of early telephone history and a reminder of how far communication devices have come.
