This framed Nortel SoundBeam sample photograph features the SoundBeam, an advanced personal hands free communication device developed by Northern Telecom. It represents an interesting chapter in Nortel’s exploration of new telephone technology.

The photograph came from the private collection of Cliff Read, a Bell Northern Research (BNR) industrial designer, and was received at the Old Telephone Room on August 30, 2025.
