The Red Northern Telecom Meridian M3000 Touchphone became a memorable television prop through its appearance in Stargate SG-1. The Red phone was seen on Major General George S. Hammond’s desk in Season 5, Episode 4, “The Fifth Man,” first broadcast on July 20, 2001.

The phone shown here is a customized reproduction of the television prop, based on the 1985 Northern Telecom Meridian M3000 Touchphone. It has been painted red and fitted with a replica overlay to recreate the on screen appearance.

The reproduction is fully functional when connected to a suitable power supply and Meridian SL-1 PBX, making it an unusual combination of Canadian telephone design and science fiction television history.
